Two structurally different approaches cover most outdoor floors we quote in North Cyprus: a composite decking board fixed to a substructure, or a hard covering — stone, ceramic or the same composite decking — raised on adjustable pedestals. Which one fits depends on what's underneath the finished surface, not just on looks.
If the surface sits directly over a solid, well-drained base — a garden, a ground-floor terrace, a poolside slab — a fixed composite deck board like Duro 3.0, 3D Emboss or Composite Decks is usually the simpler build. If the surface sits over a roof, a balcony, or anything with waterproofing, drainage outlets or services underneath that need to stay reachable, a pedestal-raised system is usually the better fit, because the covering can be lifted for access.
The two approaches aren't mutually exclusive on one project: a rooftop terrace might use pedestals to raise porcelain paving in one zone and a fixed composite deck in another. What Determines the Right Choice
- What's underneath: a roof or balcony with a waterproofing membrane favours pedestals; a solid ground-level base favours fixed decking.
- Slope: if the structural surface has a fall for drainage, the KPS pedestal range compensates up to 7° so the finished floor comes out level.
